An interesting article and some great shots, Lorenzo. Recently, I've started to ignore the SD cards I just used and replace the ones from the camera with empty ones for the next shoot. I do, however, download their contents onto my home HDD. Then I start to review the photos I took in the previous shoot - which might have been a couple of days or a week ago? Why? Because I've started to find that I need to leave it a few days before I am sufficiently objective about which are keepers and which can either be discarded altogether or just kept in the HDD for review at some time in the future, if ever. If I start looking at my photos straight after I shot them - or even the day after - I'm too tempted to start post-processing everything. My mind needs to almost forget what I shot to allow it to seem them afresh. the same is true when I'm post-processing. I'll get a photo to where I think it's "done" and leave it for an hour or overnight. Then I'll return with fresh eyes and I'll almost guarantee to see something(s) I need to tweak, even slightly.
We all have our routines and you need to do what's best for you. I've always been in too much of a hurry to see the end result and slowing myself down, quite deliberately, has helped me. I don't do photography professionally. I'm not working to a customer's brief or deadline - so why rush things?
1 it’s ad all one and I carry the Ricoh, the flash, some spare batteries, a second Sd card and some accessories (just in case). I’ve used the Lowepro HP120 for so long even with my small Fuji cameras in the past so why not!
2 LoL I gave black and white a try in past editions of the parade, but it doesn’t quite suit me and mostly with flash.

I think it’s the right approach and it’s totally true that a delay is needed to leave behind the emotional attachment of the moment.
Bellissimi ritratti! Luce pazzesca , che flash hai usato ? Il solito?
Ciao Rosella grazie! Si avevo il Q20ii 📸
I love this type of puccia + beer outings!
But 2 provocative questions:
1. Why do you even need a slingback for a GRIII?
2. Knowing your opinion about high-contrast monochrome: how is photographing this type of parade less low-hanging fruit? 😉
Only joking! Well done!
No problem you can always ask 😉
